Resilient Leaders – Managing Self and Staff

Resilient Leaders is a specialised program for building your personal resilience and empowering others to build theirs.

The program provides workplace leaders with the knowledge, expertise and resources they need to identify and implement a practical resilience framework.

Participants explore the importance of modelling resilient behaviours, and develop strategies to support themselves & their team to sustain high performance and respond more effectively to workplace change.

Program Objectives

The objectives of this program are to provide participants with:

  • An understanding of resilience and its importance to workplace health, performance and relationships
  • Practical skills and strategies for building resilience to stress, challenge and change, and
  • A range of strategies to encourage the development of resilience capabilities in others.

On completion of this program leaders will be able to:

  • Recognise the signs and symptoms of stress and burn out in self and others
  • Understand resilience and its importance to health, performance and relationships

Training Profile

The Resilient Leaders program is delivered in your workplace to groups of up to 16.

The program provides skills-based, experiential learning supported by evidence-based theory and workplace integration tools. Participants learn through a combination of formal presentation, self-reflection & assessment, workbook exercises, practical skills training and facilitated group discussion.

2.5-hour intensive

Module 1: Managing Self

  • Overview: resilience, stress and performance
  • Adopting a Resilience Framework
  • Personal Resilience Assessment – identifying supports and challenges
  • What is stress? Recognising signs and symptoms of stress & burnout in self & others
  • Responding to stress: exploring reactions and current coping strategies
  • Mindfulness: awareness and regulation of unhelpful thoughts and emotions
  • Skills training: practice of resilience techniques.

Module 2: Managing Staff

  • Modelling Resilient Behaviours
  • Integrating resilience skills & strategies into the workplace & personal life
  • Supporting others – identifying impacts, opportunities, tools and resources
  • Resilience Action Planning.

Session includes a 15-minute break between modules 1 and 2.

Resilient Leaders workbook & mp3 audio files

Participants receive a comprehensive workbook containing:

  • Background theory and evidence-based research
  • Weekly task lists and goal setting tools
  • Resilience technique practice guidelines
  • Integration tips and strategies
  • Resilience assessment tools
  • Resilience Action Planning worksheets.

Participants also receive eight resilience techniques in mp3 audio format. These techniques, available through the Working Mind app, allow participants to practice and build their resilience skills anytime, anywhere.
